with the 21st of December just past, it is the begining of a new year and a new cycle.
on the 21st of December, on the brink of where the light ceases to recede and the days begin to get brighter, i decided it was time to set in motion some ideas for the coming year.
lately i have been becoming somewhat deflated by certain peoples lack of motivation to get out and grab a little bit of adventure and excitement....
i decided to take this as an inspiration for myself to achieve certain things this year. Everybody has things they have always wanted to do, everyone has dreams and aspirations that, for one reason or another, get pushed aside for the sake of the mundane and the secure...
So on the Winter solstice i wrote myself a list (and checked it twice!). this list contained ten things that i have always wanted to do, but for one reason or another i never have done. you can call them resolutions if you wish, but new-years resolutions tend to fizzle out before they have a chance to be fulfilled.
each of the 10 things on the list will be documented through various media, photography, sketches, notebooks, film etc, and essentially what i intend on having at the end of this is a body of work which i will exhibit, hopefully next year. the intention is to test myself, to fulfill my dreams, face my fears, and create artwork along the way. maybe by doing these acts i will in some way inspire others to reach out and grab life by the reigns, and start doing the things they have always wanted to do...
Life is an adventure to be lived not a problem to be solved

Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? ...He's a mile away and you've got his shoes.
